Happy Birthday to The Latina-ish Blog!

It’s February 27, 2021, and my blog has been live for under 72 hours. But I’m writing this now as a sort of a time capsule/putting it out there in the universe type thing. And I wanted to get my feelings written down while they’re still fresh.

I’ve wanted to blog for a long time. Years. I didn’t pursue it though, because I felt like people would judge me (and maybe they do but oh well), I felt like I didn’t have anything to offer and I was focused on making it big so I didn’t feel genuine. I

Things I learned/did week one of blogging 

  • Set up gmail with brand name

  • Used the same profile pics for all accounts and kept the same name (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Squarespace, Gmail)

  • Wrote and started as many posts as I could while I still had momentum

  • Applied for Amazon Associates

  • Wrote and posted first post

  • Shared post to personal Instagram and link to post on Facebook

  • Linked Instagram account to Preview App and started scheduling Instagram posts

  • Set up Pinterest button on Squarespace posts

  • Scheduled first 4 blog posts

  • Set up pinterest account and start pinning

  • Set up square space app (I find it easier to upload my pictures to my posts from my phone and then rearrange them on my laptop

  • Made a running list of blog post ideas

Engagement Goals

  • 100 followers on Instagram by end of March

  • 100 visits to the blog per week

  • 100 email subscribers

  • 1,000 email subscribers

  • 1,000 followers by end of the year

Content Goals

  • 1 blog post per week, first 90 days are critical

  • 3 Instagram posts per week

  • 1 reel per week

  • Post on Instagram stories every day

  • First saved pin

  • First Amazon Associates payment
